Gratitude

It’s the holiday season! While the holidays can get rushed, sometimes we forget to take a step back and appreciate what is right in front of us. It is important to reflect during this time of year, to say ‘Thank You’ to those we are grateful for, to recognize the accomplishments we have achieved, and review what helped get us here.

Many people keep track of what they are grateful for in various and creative ways. Here are some ideas to get started. Keep a gratitude journal, writing down your wins on a daily or weekly basis. Some families create paper turkeys, where everyone can write down what they are appreciative of on a feather. Then, they put them all together to form one big, colorful gratitude turkey. Tracking who and what you are thankful for can put what you have and the goals you’ve reached into perspective.

Another way to express your gratitude is the act of giving back. If there is a cause that is important to your family, you can volunteer your time or resources. This can include donations to charity, contributions to a food bank, giving books to a Little Free Library, or cleaning up a park or part of your neighborhood. It can also be an act of kindness to someone else like paying for coffee for the person behind you in line, writing a kind note to a friend, giving flowers to someone to brighten their day, or making cookies or treats for your neighbors. There is a multitude of ways you can give back and show your appreciation for the people and organizations that are close to you.

For us, we would like to say thank you to all our wonderful clients. Over the years, we have worked together to protect you and your family, and keep your plans updated. We are grateful for the opportunity to get to know you and your families, and we look forward to continuing to work with you.

We would also like to give a big thank you to our planning partners. Those professionals who work with us side by side and help keep our clients protected and in control.

Throughout the next few months, remember to take a moment to show appreciation for everyone you are grateful for in your lives, and to take the time to give back to the people and causes that are important to you.

From our family to yours, we wish you all the best this holiday season and in the new year.
